We have been busy editing our video and I think it is coming along very well. We decided the look of and where to place lower thirds for the interview clips and color corrected some more clips. In class this past Tuesday I did the voice over in the sound booth for our video for which initially we had Mary do, but the audio quality was not that great. I think the voice over I did works with the video and does not distract from the other audio present throughout. We are well underway to almost finishing our video and it is a good length as well, under 5 minutes or so.

Last Friday, our group met and we really got on our video project.  A lot of adjustments have been made and we are on our way to creating a good piece.  We have been juggling where different video clips should be placed and touching up on interviews and b-roll.  Overall, our post-production process is coming along very well.

After presentations we met on Friday afternoon and got back on the ship and started to edit. So far I think we are half way there.

Before Spring Break on Thursday, March 25th we shot in the morning capturing the cafeteria, captured Mary with people, interviewed Harold again with a lav microphone and he did a welcoming/entrance scene. This shoot should include enough video to complete our project.

Our group shot one last time before spring break and it was our final day of shooting.  We were there from 7am to about 1pm getting the rest of our footage.  Overall it was a success and we believe we have enough footage now to edit the video.  However, we had a problem with one of the members of the foundation who did not like us shooting without warning.  He made a big deal about the situation but we did not let that stop us from getting our work done.  Our group is now editing for the video and hopefully we come out with something special!

We all gathered on early on thursday March 25th to shoot our final footage for the video. This time we were going to shoot the cafeteria with people in it eating and interacting. We really would have liked to have announced to everybody who we were and what we were doing, but Mary told us just to go ahead and start shooting, nonchalantly. We had a few people ask us concernedly whether we were with the news, and they were fine was we told them we were students, etc. We really weren't shooting any close-ups of any body in particular and those that really didn't want to be on camera at all, expressed so. I think it went well for the most part. We were there for about 5 hours, and in addition to capturing the cafeteria momentum, we captured Mary interacting with a couple of people. We interviewed Harold again, this time we made sure to use a Lavaliere mic. We recorded both him and Mary reading the same voice over, to see which one we will use in the video or to interchange between the two. We captured Harold doing a very brief "welcome" in front of the building, which was an idea Shaun came up with that day. We have now been working on editing and compiling our research.
